# Jellyfin

> Jellyfin organizes and streams movies, shows, music, and other personal media.

Jellyfin keeps its library database in `/config` and transcode/cache files in `/cache`. `/media` is a separate volume; an empty volume has no films or music, so import files before creating a library.

## Configure

1. Prepare the example server, connect the repository, and map `production` to the branch containing these manifests. Replace the example server IP and domain. Commit the manifests, then sync the repository and inspect the resolved configuration.
2. Keep the Service's named volumes attached across deployments. Towbar's Datastore backup policy does not back up Service volumes, so include them in your own recovery plan.
3. Deploy the Service, then perform the checks below before enabling auto-deploy.
4. After deployment, transfer a sample media file to the server and use `docker cp` to place it under `/media` in the running Jellyfin container. The named media volume retains it when the container is replaced.

## Verify

Add a small media file to `/media`, scan the library, and play it over HTTP. This example does not configure DLNA or hardware transcoding.
